Raw Food Diet Menu Day 2

Breakfast

Breakfast today on the raw food diet menu was my usual OJ. The oranges I used were really big and I ended up making more juice than I expected but I wasn't complaining because every sip of the 32 ounces was delicious.

I did a half hour on the elliptical in the late morning and had 16 oz of the OJ at around 1:30 and left the rest in the freezer. At 3:00 I decided to enjoy the other 16 oz.

408 calories, 94g carbs, 2g fat, 6g protein

Lunch

I didn't feel very hungry today and didn't have any solid food until 5:00, at which time I had a mono meal of cherries. I could have waited longer but I often eat out of habit rather than true hunger. It's strange how much free time you end up with when food isn't in the equation.

Cherries are expensive now in the spring season at $7.99 a pound! The outrageous price shocked me but I have had such a craving for them that I bought 2.5 pounds and ate them all in one sitting, unable to stop myself, even though I wanted to save some for another day.

And yes, I do believe they were worth it, every mouthful was mouth watering. The way I see it, I don't ever go out and get an expensive steak dinner so this is my special treat.

2.5 pounds cherries

715 calories, 181.55g carbs, 2.3g fat, 16.3g protein

Dinner

I wasn't in the mood for greens today so I made up a dish of salad fixins' because my body seemed to be craving some sodium. Maybe from an overload of potassium in those cherries? Anyway, it hit the spot.

3 large beefsteak tomatoes, 3 cucumbers, 1 red pepper, 2 dates, handful fresh cilantro from my garden, ground pepper

343 calories, 408.9g carbs, 1.4 fat, 8.0g protein


Raw Food Diet Menu Day 2 Totals:

1,466 calories, 684.45g carbs, 5.7g fat, 30.3g protein

This makes me laugh at the days I was counting carbs, always hungry, and still fat. Back then I would have rather died a slow miserable death than consume 684 carbs in one day. If I remember correctly, I believe 10 grams may have been my daily limit. I'm certainly glad I found the light :)

I'm certainly not meeting my fat grams quota of 18.3 grams, but I did fall off the wagon and go on a much regretted fat binge in the months previous to this little raw food diet menu diary, so I can afford to keep the fat tally low for some time.
